Study abroad programs are flexible, so you can plan a global experience around your schedule. Plus, any program offered through the Global Education Office provides ASU credits toward your degree.

Financial aid, including many ASU and non-ASU scholarships, can be applied toward a number of ASU-sponsored Global Education Office programs. More information on study abroad grants and scholarships is available as well as ideas on how to generate community-based funding.

Yes! Because ASU offers so many international, domestic and virtual program options, you can find a wide range of coursework to suit your academic needs. Plan early and talk to your academic advisor about the best time to apply for a global experience as an ASU Online student.
ASU Online students have successfully participated in a number of different global education programs, including:
- Faculty-directed programs over the summer with ASU Sun Devils and faculty
- Global intensive experiences during academic breaks, including spring break
- Semester programs for an immersive, independent study abroad experience
- ASU Global Flex program, which allows ASU Online students to continue coursework online, while being immersed in a different culture for 6, 12 or 18 weeks
- Global Virtual Internship that connects ASU Online students to remote internship opportunities in over 7,000 companies worldwide.
Participants in any program will earn ASU “resident” credit and grades for courses completed on the program. Learn more about earning credit.
No. Coursework taught in English is available in most regions of the world.
Yes! Global internships are great opportunities for ASU Online students to gain hands-on work experience in their field, boost their resume with international work experience and earn academic credit over the summer or semester. There are four main global internship opportunities:
- Full-time internships - intern full-time with an organization abroad or domestically
- Study and intern - take courses and intern part-time with an organization abroad
- Faculty-directed internships - travel abroad with your ASU faculty, learning and interning with other Sun Devils
- Global Virtual Internship - intern remotely for an international company.
