The online Bachelor of Science in Economics offered by The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences provides students the opportunity to complete a set of rigorous courses in microeconomic and macroeconomic theory and applied statistics. Students also select department electives covering topics such as international economics, money and banking, and labor economics.
The B.S. in Economics offered by The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences provides the same economics curriculum as the major offered by the W.P. Carey School of Business while allowing students a great deal of flexibility in the selection of elective coursework to satisfy degree requirements. Those interested in government or public-sector work may pair the economics curriculum with courses in political science or urban planning. Those wishing for private sector preparation may choose to minor in business. Students who wish to, or who have already completed, coursework in other disciplines may find the economics major a path to obtaining the skills required for analytical career.
